MUSEUM
TO HOLD ANNUAL
WASHINGTON PROGRAM FEBRUARY 19
It’s
the Museum’s annual celebration of religious freedom,
George Washington’s Birthday and Presidents’ Day with a reading of a
letter written by the first president to historic Congregation Mikveh
Israel.

The guest speaker at the program will
be Jane L. Dalton, chancellor of
the Philadelphia Bar Association, who will speak on the Constitutional
guarantee of religious freedom. Joining the celebration will be
the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry, music by the Fifes and Drums
of the Delaware Militia and re-enactors from the 11th Pennsylvania
Regiment. And if that isn’t enough, cherry pie will be served at the
close of the program, compliments of the Tasty Baking Company.
The Rev. Timothy Safford of Christ Church Philadelphia, where
George Washington and other Colonial leaders worshipped, will deliver
the invocation.
Cosponsored by Historic Congregation Mikveh Israel. The program
also features a guest speaker, a fife and drums corps, and cherry pie
courtesy of Tastykake. Co-sponsored by Mikveh Israel.
Monday, February 19, 2007, noon at the Museum. Admission is free.
