Temple Berith Kodesh: Rochester, NY
Incorporated in 1848, Reform congregation Berith Kodesh bought a building on Gibbs Street from a Baptist congregation. In August 1876, the cornerstone of this new synagogue building was laid, symbolizing the growth and continuing reforms of the community. The synagogue was completely destroyed in a fire on April 13, 1909, and their new building (not pictured) was designed by Pierto Belluschi.
