In America, you can find dreams, dreams to come true, even more then it
seems.
Enjoy your stay here, you'll find a better life. Becuase here in

Welcome to the Land Of Liberty. Here you
can find
happiness, freedom, justice and peace. Bring with you your roots and
let
them spread like wildflowers through the land where all are welcome and
all
are free to their own happiness. Be proud of where you come from and
remember
to not forget, but we warned that this is not heaven itself, but a land
for
everyone to share. Remember that you may find success here, but to
receive
it you may face tough and taunting times. We are not a perfect land, so
please
allow for mistakes here. We will try our best to make you happy here,
but
only time will allow for a more perfect land. You will face times when
you
may not want to be here, but this is how we learn here and the only way
to
make things right is to learn from our mistakes. There will be mistakes
here,
great mistakes, but out of these mistakes will come freedom unheard of
anywhere
else. We may take a while to get used to you, but please be patient
because
we all are only human. Welcome to America, and may you enjoy your stay.

Lady Liberty is saying to the Jewish
immigrants
"Welcome." She alone holds the key to America, and all it stands for,
and
she has opened the gates and welcomed them in.

Welcome

here.
Become a part of us and we will accept you as one with us.
Respect and enjoy
our culture and traditions and we will also respect and enjoy
yours. Once
again, Welcome!
Samson Adigun, Sacramento, CA
[9-21-04]
After
viewing this picture, I think that lady liberty is saying a few things.
I
imagine she is welcoming the Jewish immigrants to the new land - maybe
even
telling them a little about the possiblilities they are capable of
there on
the land. I imagine she would be very honest and upfront about the way
of
life there and how she would expect them to uphold the same of living;
honestly
and with pride and understanding that they will be expected to help
others
and that there will be racial problems as always... but that they will
help
eachother through those battles.
Jayme Petersen
[9-21-04]
Welcome to a land of freedom and unmeasured
wealth!
Here, you will have a chance to become more than
what
you were. In order to reap the benefits of
this great
land, however, you must be willing to work hard and make
contributions to
the land and the success of the country. Be mindful of those
around you,
and do not be alarmed at the many differences in your neighbors. Please
be
accepting of such differences. This is a great land of
opportunity, but
like any other land, it has the unfortunate drawback of social and
racial
prejudice. If you applaud the cultures that are different than
your own,
you will set an example for how true Americans should be. If you
keep all
of these things in mind you should have no problem living a long and
prosperous
life here. Good Luck and enjoy!
Carin, Sacramento CA.

Lady Liberty is saying . . . "To those of you who have suffered at the
hands
of those around you, and those who have been the victims of enemies who
were
determined to control your every move and existence, welcome to the
land
of the free. For those of you who are searching for a better
place to live
and raise your families, welcome to the land of
opportunity. You are free
to practice your religious beliefs and congregate with those of similar
faiths
without fear of persecution. You are required to work hard
in order to
succeed. I give you the opportunities through hard work to own
your own
land. I welcome you to educate your families in the
American way. I welcome
you to rise up and fight for what you believe in by getting involved in
local
politics. Incorporate the American ways of life, liberty and the
pursuit
of happiness into your daily lives. I welcome you now onto
American soil.
Good Luck and God Bless. "
Ann, Antioch, California

If you run into problems with people who do
not
understand you or profess their hate for you, please remember that
there are
a lot more people here who will accept you and love you because of who
you
are. Life is not always easy when you enter this land, but you
can overcome
any obstacle because you are willing to make the sacrifices to make a
better
life for yourself.
S. Ballard
Sacramento, CA

Welcome, let me show you around and help
you get
settled.
Manuela Eichenhofer

I would think she is saying, I will unlock my gate to allow you to
come
in and be a citizen. The picture tells a story all in
itself. The "white"
person is on the good side of the fence and the other people are on the
other.
Lady Liberty is dressed in plush clothing along with her head held
high,
as if to symbolize power. The others are dressed in less plush
clothing
and hold their heads at a lower angle. It is almost as if there is a
sense
of bowing to Lady Liberty. The child looks like it may be ill. What a
powerful
picture!

I think that Lady Liberty is
welcoming
the family to a new world. She imparts to them that it will be
difficult,
but if they stick it out they will have a new home that they can be
happy
in.
Amy Jones

[9-17-04]
Welcome to a new land and a new
opportunity.
A land where you can start fresh, a land where you can be free and not
have
to worry about being put in jail for your beliefs. Where you may
keep your
culture and your past and celebrate who you are and where you came
from.
You may assimilate you and your family into the American culture, or
keep
your own culture. These are choices for only you to make, no one
may make
that choice for you. For I have the key to the gate, and I will
not let in
anyone who will take away your freedoms for which so many have died
for.
So be free and be safe, and I will stand so ever vigilant against any
one
who would want to take away your freedoms. So welcome and peace
be with you
and your family.

Welcome to America. If you fear persecution, hide
your
identity. If you have courage and fear no one, show your pride. If you
have
a dream, pursue it. Remember from whence you came, and why, and
look to
where you are going. Tell it to your children. Success is not
guaranteed.
If you're lazy, you'll not succeed. If you're willing to try, you might
succeed.
May the Lord, bless you and keep you.
